Science Movement organizes interactive Science Camps annually where senior scientists, researchers, and academicians make a humble attempt to bridge the gap between the school students and science education, and help them develop intimacy with science through a kind of interactive fun-fare where the students see and participate in live demonstrations, ask questions to the peers to satisfy their curiosity, and ultimately dream of pursuing a career in pure sciences. The student-participants enjoy all this for free, including free accommodation, food, and local travel. As such an interactive participation yields best results with adequate intellectual as well as social capacity in the students, and also since we have limitations in accommodating a large number of students in the camp, hence we organize a Science Movement Aptitude Test SMAT) to identify the most eligible candidates suitable for this free participation. While we reserve the right to decide the method to be adopted for short-listing the candidates, disqualification in this Test doesn't and shouldn't necessarily mean or imply to a lack of potential in the applicant. Rather we urge the students to take this test like a game, and try for better results next time in case of a disqualification this year.

The students studying in Class IX, X& XI are eligible to appear for the test. The question papers are however prepared according to the class/standard and not the group.

• The participation fee for SMAT 2023 is Rs.50/-(rupees fifty only) for the individuals, whether they chose to apply directly to us (online) or through their schools. For collective applications from the schools/institutions Rs.20/-(rupees twenty only) shall be payable to us deducting Rs.30/- per application towards the school’s administrative/miscellaneous charges. The payment can be made in cash (For schools/institutions). Online submission and payment facility is also available on this website.

To help students strengthen their problem solving and lateral skills, SMAT 2023 questions will be non-conventional, non-routine type and thinking skill based. Note: There is no syllabus for Scientific Aptitude.
